AGE-C Team
We are a cohesive team of ten researchers, representing five esteemed European universities: Goethe University Frankfurt, King’s College London, University of Udine, Sorbonne Nouvelle University Paris, and Babes-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca. Our team brings together a wealth of diverse backgrounds and expertise, creating a harmonious blend of knowledge. Each member possesses a deep understanding of film studies, contributing to our collective expertise.
Our collaborative research project holds a pivotal role within the “Challenges and Potentials for Europe” program, generously supported by the VW Foundation. Together, we are a passionate and dedicated group committed to unraveling the intricate layers of European media culture.
Our team’s expertise spans a wide array of areas across the European Union and its neighboring states, including Romania, Italy, Germany, Austria, France, the UK, Spain, Switzerland, Hungary, and the post-Yugoslav states.
Operating under the banner of AGE-C, our mission is to pioneer an innovative fusion of cultural gerontology and film studies. We embark on a profound exploration of the far-reaching influence of European cinema in shaping perceptions of aging and well-being, with a particular emphasis on the gender perspective.
